I’ve got something new to share with you guys today. I know in the past I’ve shared my Stitch Fix boxes with you. Today, I wanted to share a different clothing subscription service. This one is for kids.
My daughter has long wanted her own Stitch Fix box, but that I knew of there wasn’t anything available. One day in my Instagram feed an ad showed up for Rockets of Awesome. It said it was a seasonal clothing subscription service for kids and they went up to size 14. Perfect, I did some more investigating and decided to give it a try.
Pumpkin couldn’t wait for her first box to arrive. She kept asking me when it would come. The package comes in this cute box with a handle and a cute scene on the inside that you could color or use for dolls or other play.
They send a box for each season that contains between 8 and 12 items. When you sign up for your first box, you will start with a style quiz so they can tailor the box to your child.
I love that they don’t charge a styling fee or any kind of fee to send the box. There are no fees for shipping or returns. So pretty much it is totally free to give it a try. You will just pay for what you keep. Not much risk, so why not give it a try was my philosophy.
Pumpkin loved her box. She is a pretty picky clothes shopper and finds a lot of textures and clothing styles annoying, so I knew she probably wouldn’t end up keeping much from the box, but again there wasn’t much risk to giving it a try.
These are the Heart Leggings ($16) and the Confetti Hoodie ($26). She loved the hoodie and it is one of the items we kept.
Next up she gave this cute skirt and shirt a try. I loved this on her, but she deemed the skirt not quite right and the shirt, well she hates wearing long sleeve shirts, so it was out.
This is the Sequin Skirt ($48) and the Long Sleeve Sparkle Swing Top ($28). Both were returned.
Hello, cuteness! She loved this cute cat headband($15) that was included in the box. At $15, it was a splurge item for us, but she loved it and wears a headband quite a bit, so we kept it.
Pumpkin paired the Comfy Crew($26) with the Neon Tulle Skirt ($24). I loved the skirt, but she doesn’t tend to like to wear shorter skirts and likes longer skirts. Sigh….sometimes I wish she would just wear cute things and not worry so much about comfort, but I have bought her things I think are cute in the past and that she doesn’t just love and she doesn’t wear them. I have learned not to waste my money and not to fight it. Her style is her style. Both of these items went back.
She put the Sequin Skirt back on with the Long Sleeve Flounce Tee ($28). She Loved this tee and said it was not only cute but comfortable. It was a keeper even if I thought it was a little pricey for my usual budget.
I loved this outfit and thought it looked so stinkin’ cute on her, but again, she didn’t love it. This is the Long Sleeve Little Lux Dot Tee ($28) and the Neon Tulle Skirt ($24). Both went back.
If we haven’t figured out what a picky dresser Pumpkin is yet, let me also tell you she hates wearing pants. They did send two pairs of leggings. To their credit, they mainly sent skirts and a dress, which are what she wears more. These are the Foil Star Leggings ($16) with the Long Sleeve Poptastic Tee ($22). Both went back.
Finally, she tried on the Stripe Lace Dress ($26). Once again, I LOVED this dress, but she said she wouldn’t wear it. Uugh. Once again, I know not to fight her because if she says she won’t wear it, she won’t and I will just be wasting my money.
Once you receive the box, you have 5 days to try everything on. Then you fill out the form online to let them know what you are keeping and what you are returning. Of course, as with most of these types of services, they want more feedback to get better with each box. They also provide a postage paid return package. So once you check out online, you put the items you are returning into the package and send them back. There is a 25% discount for keeping all of the items in the box.
Both Pumpkin and I really liked the Rockets of Awesome service. I feel like they did a great job hitting Pumpkin’s style and my guess is that they will learn from what we sent back along with my comments and our next box will be even more up Pumpkin’s alley.
I love the idea of getting clothing seasonally and that Pumpkin gets the fun of getting a clothing box sent to her. Her older sister is super jealous, but they don’t carry over size 14. I also love the idea of the clothes coming directly to our house and not having to go clothes shopping. Clothes shopping with my kids is probably one of my least favorite things to do. I see this clothing subscription as a great option. I don’t think it will work for her entire wardrobe because it isn’t enough items and despite their reasonable prices, overall it is a bit more than I typical spend on her clothing. She is my kiddo that outgrows things super fast, so I tend to look for good deals.
Have you ever tried Rockets of Awesome? I’d love to hear your opinion as well. Leave me a comment below.

I don’t know a girl that wouldn’t love to get a box of clothes delivered. I love those heart leggings.
Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday.
True for most girls. Thanks!
