Oh my goodness, have I got a cute and easy craft for you today. I finally got into the fall mood. It took me a while this year for some reason, but I have officially gone fall now. 🙂 I have had a very busy fall and needed some quick and easy DIY crafts this year. This fit perfectly and was fun, too!
Aren’t my glitterized apples so pretty? I love how they turned out. Apples are just so representative of fall to me. I can’t wait to go apple picking! Anyway, let me show you a tip and tutorial so you can make your own glitterized apples (and pears since they were in the bag with the apples) as a fun fall craft.

Supplies:
Glitter – (I used Martha Stewart fine glitter)
Mod Podge
Paint Brush
Toothpick
Plain decorative apples/pears
Optional: old cookie sheet
First up, let me show you my tip for making this craft even easier. The apples/pears I bought (at Michael’s) were foam or something soft. Make sure you buy this type of apples as well. Then you can gently push a toothpick into the bottom of the apple to allow you to Mod Podge and glitter the entire surface of the apple at one time. Love!
To glitterize your apples, simply paint the entire apple surface with Mod Podge then sprinkle with glitter. I used three different colors of glitter. Yep…that’s it! Your done!
Tip for avoiding the glitter all over the house mess: use a cookie sheet (I have one that is only used for crafts). Hold your items above the cookie sheet. All the glitter mess goes on the cookie sheet and can easily be dumped in the trash or washed down the sink. No mess, no fuss.
I just love how the glittered apples look so much prettier than the plain ones from the store. So much more fun to me!
I used three different colors/types of glitter. I used a larger red glitter and a fine red glitter. After applying both of those I added a light peach/pumpkin color glitter. (I didn’t use the brown glitter pictured in the supplies picture. It actually ended up looking closer to black than brown…blech!)
Let your Mod Podge dry completely before using your apples in your fall decor. I used my apples in two different ways in my fall decor. Can’t wait to show you that next week!
Which do you like better, the glitterized apples or the plain apples?

Oh my goodness, I love these! So much fun. My roommate and I are throwing a party at our house soon and these just might make an appearance! So creative. 🙂
Thanks, Erin! They are super easy to make as well, just make sure to make them far enough ahead that they have time to dry. Have fun at your party!
