BFG Creative Story

Snowflake recently finished her unit on the BFG that we started at the beginning of the year. This is part of the curriculum that we use, Moving Beyond the Page  For her final project, she was to write a 5 paragraph story, create a dream jar, illustration for the jar and a recipe card for her dream.

If you have read the BFG this will probably make sense to you. If you have not, enjoy the story and keep in mind that a few of the grammar errors are on purpose as she is writing in the BFG’s voice. Her story was to follow this format:
Paragraph 1 – describe the recipe for the dream and how it was made
Paragraph 2 – describe the beginning of the dream
Paragraph 3 – describe the middle of the dream
Paragraph 4 – describe the ending of the dream
Paragraph 5 – describe who you would want to give the dream to and why it would be a powerful dream

This story is rewritten here exactly as Snowflake wrote it.

Dream in a jar

Here is her project:

I made a dream today. I loved Sophie’s creative ideas. She made a recipe about everything one of the orphan’s loved. Step 1, she told me the dream. Next I got the different parts of the dream and Sophie assured me that I got the right ones. Then we mixed up the dream and made sure it was perfect. I thought it was a brilliant dream.

The Amazing Strawberry Shortcake Adventure
Now you is probably wondering what the dream is about. Well it begins like this, once upon a time in strawberry land strawberry was talking with her friends. “Hey how about an adventure outside of strawberry land,” Strawberry suggested. “Yay,” all her friends cryed at once. “Well where should we start?” asked strawberry. “Maybe princess land,” suggested plum. No one else had an idea, so they were off to princess land in no time.
On their way there they passed M town and saw a girl and invited her on their journey. They learned that her name was Pumpkin. Soon they found themselves in princess land. Pumpkin was the first one to chime in, “I want to go see Rapunzel.” “OK,” said strawberry shortcake. They all went to see Rapunzel and many other princesses to. After that with Rapunzel following in their adventure they decided to go to the zoo and so off they went.

Illustration on the dream jar
Finally they reached the zoo. First Rapunzel chimed in this time, “Can we go see the horses?” “Yay” said Pumpkin, “but after that can we see the turtles, elephants, and giraffes?” “Yes we could and I thihk we will see the entire zoo,” Rapunzel said. That is what they did and they really enjoyed it. They walked out of the zoo saying how great it was. The sun was setting and finally they said their good-byes and all went back to their homes. It had been an amazing journey.

Now that I is done telling the dream you is probably wondering who is going to get the dream. Pumpkin, because the girl’s name at the orphanage is Pumpkin and she loves every one in the dream. She would love that dream about her and all her favorite characters. I do hope she loves it because she might be sad because she also loves Felicity and theres no Felicity in it but I think she will love it.

My youngest recently wrote an Animal Habitat story as part of her curriculum. So cute! We sure love the creativity of this curriculum.

More to Enjoy! 😍
