Toward the beginning of this year, Pumpkin started Moving Beyond the Page 5-7. It is our main curriculum. She has been working on a unit about habitats and homes.
Recently we were talking about how sometimes animals and people change because of the habitat or what might happen if an animal were to get to the wrong habitat. She got to write a creative story about an animal that got to the wrong habitat.
Here are her story and illustrations.
ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE RIVER A TURTLE WAS
SWIMMING AND SWIMMING.

THEN THE RIVER STOPPED. IT WENT ONTO LAND. IT WASN’T THAT HARD TO GET ACROSS THE LAND. SOON THE TURTLE WAS IN THE JUNGLE. IT DIDN’T KNOW THE WAY BACK HOME. SHE STAYED THERE FOR 2 DAYS. IT LOOKED FOR A PATH TO THE RIVER BUT ONLY WENT MORE INTO THE JUNGLE.

THE TURTLE WAS HUNGRY. SHE COULDN’T FIND ANY FOOD. WHEN IT WAS AFTERNOON SHE FOUND A PATH BACK TO THE TURTLE’S HOME.
THE END
You can read more of the stories we’ve written using this curriculum with the BFG creative story. We also have fun with crafts like these Native American crafts.
Enjoy your day!
