For a lot of you,  back to school season is coming very quickly. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE taking first day of school pictures. It is such a great marker of how much my kids grow and change in one year. Today, I’ve got some free printable first day of school signs for you to use to capture those first day of school pictures.

These free first day of school printables are so cute. Perfect for our Back to School pictures.

We usually take our first day of school pictures outside right by our side door, but I thought this year it would be fun to be a little more planned and formal with our pictures.

You may remember earlier this week when I showed you the diy photography backdrop that I made. I used that backdrop to capture our “first day of school” pictures. They were really our mommy needs to take pictures of you about 1 week after school got out pictures because I had to photograph this before we left on our road trip, but you get the point anyway…right?

We used that cute ribbon backdrop as a fun background for our first day of school pictures. If you want to do something similar, I would suggest that you make your backdrop the night before or just take the pictures the day before.

We are not morning people, so the idea of having enough time to take fun pictures before school is laughable. I will probably just do this the day before or the afternoon of the first day.

My older daughter was a little more subdued with her pictures. I love the pictures I was able to get of her. We used the navy and white ribbon tassels because those are her school colors.

My younger daughter is REALLY excited to start 3rd grade. These are her adorable crazy excited eyes. 🙂

Let’s all have a great school year! Enjoy capturing the fun of the first day of school.

This is such a cute idea. I like that it’s simple in design, but yet it adds a stylish touch to it at the same time.

Thank you for sharing this with us on the #HomeMattersParty. We hope to see you again next week when we open our doors at 12AM EST on Friday.
