I participated in a Blogger Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Cardstore.com. I received complimentary cards and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Have you thought about Valentine cards for your special loved ones yet? Most people wait until the last minute….not naming names or anything, but I’m sure you know someone who buys cards the night before or the day of. This year I’m not off to a good start in the card department. So, I gotta tell you that I’m on a kick to make things a bit more simple and easy around here.
I think sometimes I’m not even sure where I put my own head. Like for example, I went to the store on three different occasions WITH A LIST. On that list was to buy cards for my Father-In-Law and my Dad for their birthdays. Every time, I left the store WITHOUT the cards! Finally, now that one of them is a couple of weeks late and the other one will be late, I got the cards.
I decided not to take any chances with Valentine cards! I really want my husband and my girls to wake up Valentine’s morning and have a sweet card from me telling them how much I love them. I thought the best way to make that happen was to skip the store all together and just use Cardstore instead. I don’t have to leave my house and I don’t have to chance getting to the store and forgetting what I came for. Apparently I get easily distracted by bright shiny objects….LOL!
I have long wanted to try a site where you get to make your own card and have it sent to the recipient, so when the opportunity came up to write a blog post about it and get to try it out…I jumped! I’m so glad I did! It was a quick and easy process and I know I will be using Cardstore again.
They had a fantastic selection of cards from which to choose. I settled on a Valentine card for my husband with a hot air balloon on the front of the card since he loves hot air balloons.
Once you select your card, you get to have fun personalizing the card. In my case, I wanted to add a picture to the inside of the card. It was simple to upload the photo.
As a certified font-a-holic, I was delighted to see that Cardstore let me select from a list of fonts (and not just 5 or 6, but a good selection). I also got to pick the color for the font and later figured out I could have changed the font of the pre-written message (which also could have been changed). Personalized is the best way to describe the card. You can change almost anything to what you want.
Once you have made all the changes you want to make, you get to look over every aspect of your card and approve. Of course, I found a few errors I had made, but it is just a quick click to go back and edit things.
In the end, I have a card for my husband that I think celebrates us a couple and will be great for Valentine’s Day.
For my girls, I wanted something fun. I found this cute card with GLITTER on it! Ummm…hello, if you’ve seen a few of my recent crafts, you know we LOVE glitter around here. I couldn’t pass that card up. After uploading the photo, I was able to adjust it so that both of their faces were showing and not hidden behind the XOXO. It was easy to do.
I’m so glad that I have had the opportunity to be a mom. I think it is one of the best things EVER! This year, with my Aunt’s death, it is in the forefront of my mind to make sure my girls know how much I love them, how much they mean to me, and how lucky I am to be their mom. I know sometimes in the day-to-day, things get said and sometimes it just doesn’t get conveyed. Valentine’s day is a good day, among many others, to make sure they know how amazing I think they are. I think this card does that very well.
I know I will use Cardstore again. I really liked their selection of card AND get this, you can make your cards anytime and schedule the date for delivery! Ummm, I can spend a night making all the cards I want for the year…done! No more trying to remember to get cards at the store.
As you can see, above, there is a nice little pop up window with a calendar for you to select the date for delivery. In case you are wondering, most of the cards I looked at were the same price or less than what I would pay for a card at the store and they can be personalized so much more than a card bought at the store. The option to have it sent to the recipient costs only the stamp. To me, it is a good value and a time savings.
Right now, Cardstore has a special for you on Valentine’s Cards. $2.49 Valentine’s Day Cards at Cardstore! Use code: CCA4312, Valid through 2/7/14 or $1.49 Folded Valentine’s Day Cards at Cardstore! Use Code: CHC4199, Valid through 2/7/14. The last day to order for delivery by Valentine’s Day is February 6th. Can you imagine feeling so on top of it that you have your Valentine’s cards done a week before the day? Sounds great to me!
I’m so excited that I know I have my Valentine’s cards done and they are on their way to me! One less thing to do! Yippee! Have you gotten your Valentine’s cards yet?
That is truly precious!
I am so going to do this. I hate dealing with cards, I never get them mailed on time. When I saw that I could pre schedule delivery I was sold. Thanks for heads up.
