I decided to make a card for my Sister-In-Law’s upcoming birthday.
I use primarily Creative Memories products for my ‘traditional’ scrapbooking. When I buy one of their power palettes, they usually come with a whole bunch of storybox papers. These papers are 4×6 in size and are designed to either mount photos or use as journaling boxes. I never use them or I use very few of them in my traditional scrapbooking.
I decided to use some of these storybox cards to make this card in an effort to use up some of my ‘inventory.’ I also wanted to use them because they are really cute papers so they should make cute cards.
I started with the storybox paper and used the border maker system to cut a cute scallop.
I layered the scallops in an off-kilter manner, added a paper ribbon, and made a paper flower.
You can see a video of how to make the paper flowers at this Raspberry Suite blog post on Tip Junkie.
Finally, I used my Close to My Heart Thoughtful Scripts stamp to add a “Happy Birthday” to the front of the card.
For the inside of the card, I wanted to add a little something interesting. I used the same Creative Memories scallop punch that I used to make the paper flower. Under that, I added another strip of paper ribbon. Finally, I added a paper daisy and a button.
All the paper and paper ribbons are from the Creative Memories Delight Power Palette, which is no longer available in the paper format, but is available digitally.
Details – love them!
Happy Birthday to my Sister-In-Law! I hope she has a great birthday!
