Welcome to Real Family Fun link party. I’m super glad to have you here this week.
Real Family Fun Link Party

I was out of town this weekend with a friend. We were running in a race. She ran a 5k and I ran my 2nd half marathon. It was her first ever race and she loved it! I’m so glad her race went so well and that she is hooked on running and racing now….and it is all my fault. 🙂
My half marathon was very different than I had trained for and anticipated. I won’t go into all the details now as I think I may write a recap post, but suffice it to say that the course was billed as a flat course with two rolling hills. In reality it was hill after hill after hill for 8 miles. Then we got a slight reprive for about 1.5 miles. Then at mile 10ish a huge long uphill and finally from mile 12 on it was mostly flat (or slightly uphill with one downhill). It was the hardest run of my life. I can go into more another time, but I made it and I am super proud of myself. If you follow me on instagram…you may have seen this after race picture.

I was so tired after the race, I couldn’t even bother to stand up for a picutre. But I got my coveted bling medal…and now that I can walk again, I’m a happy girl.
We also started our school year on Monday and surprisingly, it has been a less busy week (even though it has been more running around) and I have gotten caught up on a few things. I’m quite pleasantly shocked by that.
On the blog, I have a post for you filled with 17 great homemade gift ideas for an American Girl Doll fan in your life. Perfect timing to start thinking about what you want to make for Christmas.
I showed you my super simple trick for organizing computers. Ours seemed to be left on the floor and such. I came up with an easy way to keep them safe and organized when they are not in use.
This morning, I shared my Grandma’s recipe for Funny Cake. It sure is a funny cake…you can come check out what makes it so funny.
What have you been up to? I’m looking forward to looking through your posts and seeing all your fun.

Thanks so much! Ever time I’m running a half I swear I’m never doing another one and yet I seem to keep registering for them. They do seem to be a very do-able distance to train for without it taking over your whole life.
Thanks so much for linking up and joining the fun!

Thanks so much! About 4 years ago, I would have told you I would never ever do it nor be able to. Then I got hooked on running…yay! You might be surprised at what you are able to do. 🙂
    Take care,
    KC
