Laundry Room Wreath

I know it may sound dorky, but I’ve always wanted to make a wreath for my laundry room door. I have seen plenty of cute ideas on Pinterest and have really wanted one. Today I’m sharing the laundry room door wreath that I made this summer…because I finally made one instead of just looking at them on Pinterest. 🙂

This is such cute laundry room wreath! It would brighten up my laundry room door. Looks like an easy DIY. Need to make this one.

As you may remember, I’ve been working with Offray for almost a year now. They have been fantastic supporters of my blog and they sent me the ribbon and sponsored this post as well. I was perusing their site and saw some very fun ribbons in colors that match the baskets I have in my laundry room. I knew I wanted to finally make myself a laundry room wreath and that I wanted to use the fun ribbons.

The wreath was surprisingly easy to make and of course, I’ve got the full tutorial for you so you can make one as well.

Supplies:

  • Foam wreath form – I used a flat foam form so that it wouldn’t stick out too much on my laundry room door. It is also very light, which I thought would work well for this heavy use area.
  • Wood pennant pieces
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Mini Clothespins
  • Hot glue
  • Permanent Markers
  • Adhesive letter stencil
  • Offray Panorama 1 5/16″ Multi Ribbon
  • Offray Pink Lottice 7/8″ Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Twine or string
  • Artificial flowers
  • Adhesive wall hook

Start by painting your pennant pieces. When those are dry, glue on the mini clothespins. Use permanent markers and a stencil to write the letters on your pennant pieces. String your pennant pieces together with matching colored twine or a thin ribbon.

Wrap your wreath form in the Panorama 1 5/16″ Multi Ribbon. Set aside.

Use a piece of cardboard to wrap the Pink Lottice 7/8″ Ribbon for making your bow. I wrapped mine around a piece of cardboard that was 5″ wide and wrapped around the cardboard 9 times. The more ribbon you wrap around the cardboard the more full your bow will be.

To make your bow, you will need to snip the center of your ribbon in a V shape on both sides.

Tie the ribbon together with twine or string. Then fan out the pieces to form a pretty bow.

Add some hot glue to the back of your bow and adhere it to the wreath in the desired position.

Poke a hole in your ribbon through to the wreath form. Cut the artificial flower stem very short and add a dab of glue to the end. Place it in the hole you just made in your ribbon and wreath form.

I used a removable adhesive hook (affiliate link) upside down to hang my wreath on the back side of the door. I tied some knots to hold the ribbon and wreath in place.

In the end I wasn’t sure if this would hold or if the hook might flip-up and the wreath would fall off, so I used a dab of glue to hold the hook in place as you can see pictured above.

Now, I have a pretty wreath on my laundry room door! I wish I could tell you how much I love seeing it there, but I finished the wreath only a day or two before we left on our road trip. We are all a little sick of being on the road at this point in our journey, so I can’t wait to get home and enjoy our creature comforts as well as see this pretty wreath. Of course, it will be to do the mounds of laundry I will need to do when we get home…but whatever. My laundry room now has a pretty wreath that matches the fun baskets I added a year or two ago along with the laundry sign I made as well. It makes this room that really needs new cabinets, new paint, and new everything a little bit better.

If you have thought of making a laundry room wreath, I think you should go for it. It is a surprisingly easy DIY that adds some fun and personality to your laundry room. When it comes to laundry, some fun and personality are always needed at my house! How about at yours?
