Happy 4th! and an Update from Our Family

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July from my family to yours!

I had planned to show you my summer mantel today, but you know what? Mama needs a break!

I’m writing this on July 3rd. My girls (and I, since I’m the teacher) just finished their school year today! Yippee! Snowflake completed 6th grade and Pumpkin completed 1st grade. It has been a long emotional year and I’m so glad to be done. I could have stayed up late tonight to get you the pics, etc. to show you my summer mantel, but I decided that the girls and I needed to celebrate instead. I’m warming dinner in the oven as I write. I think it is time for a movie dinner and a big glass of wine for Mama!

In case you missed the announcement on my facebook page, I can’t take too much of a break because on Tuesday my girls and I are heading out on a cross-country adventure. We will be driving almost coast to coast to see family and will be gone for 5 weeks! I need to get packing and finish up a few more posts so they are ready for you all. I don’t have them written yet, but at least I will have the projects done and can write on the road.

Like I said already, the blog will continue all summer. I have lots of fun planned for you. I will be writing/doing the majority of the posts and I have a few bloggy friends who are also going to come say hi and share some great stuff with you as well. Unfortunately between our summer travels and facebook showing the posts on my page to only about 100 of my 1300+ followers, it isn’t the most reliable place to follow along and get updates.
