Today, I’ve got an American Girl Doll Chef Set to giveaway to one lucky reader!
American Girl Doll Chef Set - a giveaway from #realcoake #AmericanGirlDoll #AGDoll #Sewing
I wrote about making these chef sets quite some time ago. You can get the pattern and see other fabric ideas as well as see the oven mitt that can be made to go with this set in my other post: American Girl Skirt Set & Chef Set.

In that post, I think I mention that I was thinking of starting an Etsy shop and selling these sets. I have come to realize I just don’t have the time to run an Etsy shop. Fast forward 7 months from when I wrote that post and I finally finished the aprons and hats. I didn’t make oven mitts. I gave one to Pumpkin as she didn’t have one yet, two of them to my nieces for Christmas, and one to my cousin’s daughter. I have one left and it is for one of you!

This is Samantha, who loves to cook (she is not part of the prize).

This is cute! I guess if I don’t win one, I’ll have to get my baby girl on the sewing machine to make it. Contests are great, thanks for the chance to win!

OMG! The chef’s outfit is so precious. i need it so bad for my collection. You see, i am a collector of pre-Mattel historical AG dolls. i have all but one. i have been collecting forever, or so it seems. i got Julie this past Christmas. Eventually these precious babies will belong to my grand-daughters, if i am able to part with them! Also, for Christmas i got a Singer 503A Rocketeer sewing machine. It was the one i used to sew my daughter’s clothes when she was little. A workhorse of a machine and i plan on using it to make AG wardrobes, both historical and modern. To start my wardrobe, i am hoping to receive the little chef’s outfit. Because my grandchildren live in Baltimore MD and i live in Texas, i only get to see them once a year. The girls are 2 and not-yet-born, so i still have time. i also have a son here in Texas who may eventually have children (i hope). Besides the two grand-daughters in MD, i also have one grand-son. i am so blessed. Because i am disabled, the gifts they receive are handmade which is not quite as expensive as store-bought especially while they are little. Fabric, as you well know can be quite expensive. Anyway, i am sorry to be rambling; i tend to do that when i get excited. I would really like to win the darling outfit. If not, though, still know that i will never stop visiting your site. And i enjoy every minute of it. More American Girl please!

Lol! Thanks so much for sharing your excitement. I’ve made these a few times and a few other things as well. They are not too bad to make. Good luck to you in all you want to make and in the giveaway.

I just helped my grand make this.. she used black and white polka dots and also we made the mitt but didn’t quilt it.. it was the first time she used a sewing machine. we were very proud of it.. I even posted a pic of her with her doll with the set she made of FB.

Just added a dozen cupcakes to my granddaughters AG goodies. I bought 2, 6 packs of christmas ornaments and just unscrewed the tiny eyehooks that were to be used to hang them. Perfect size and so pretty.

I have to admit I am new to your site…I can’t begin to tell you the series of ‘clicks’ that led me to you (ultimately via Pintrest)…I am in the process of planning my 4 year olds birthday party – My little girl wants nothing for her birthday because santa brought her all she wanted for Christmas – a new red kitchen to play in. She is so easily pleased, wants little and is so happy, all she wants for her birthday is to be with her little friends and have cake! So we are having a cooking party – all red and white polka dot!!! The kids are all getting aprons and chefs hats (etsy of course – I am not crafty and if I had found you there I would have bought this instantly). Since she truly has asked for nothing, I decided to look for a coordinating outfit for her AG doll so there would be a little something for her to open. This could not be more perfect.

we do no have American Girl Dolls, but handmade Waldorf dolls…that fit American Girl products 🙂
    ( https://mamakati.blogspot.com/2012/07/waldorf-dolls.html )

My favorite thing that I have made for the dolls is a lovely ring sling so that my lady could wear her doll while I wear her brother. She loves it and wears her doll all the time.

Just found your blog and so glad I did. I LOVE this set it’s adorable! My daughter would love this for her AG doll. I made her a doll bed for her AG last Christmas since buying the AG brand would be way too expensive. She loved it. I really want to try to sew some clothes , I just haven’t jumped into that yet. Thanks for the giveaway!

I totally hear you on the AG brand being over our budget as well. I painted some beds we bought at IKEA and made bedding for them as well. It was fun! You will do fine with the clothes, they really aren’t that hard. I was nervous at first to try them, but as I said, they really aren’t too bad to make. Good luck!
