The Best Turkey Burger Recipe….Ever…Seriously!

Have you ever accidentally created a delicious new recipe? I have and I’m sharing it with you today. I accidentally created the best turkey burger recipe….ever….seriously!This is seriously the best Turkey Burger Recipe I have tried. It is moist, flavorful and easy to make. Love recipes like that!

If you have read my blog before, I hope you remember that I rarely make claims like I have in the title of this post and in my claims of how good this turkey burger is. I don’t like to. I know everyone has different tastes and what I love you may dislike. However, this turkey burger recipe is so good, and we have eaten it at least 3 or 4 times now, that I’m hopeful we can agree that it is the best ever turkey burger recipe.

In case you have not ever accidentally created a recipe, let me tell you how to do it so you can make your own masterpieces. 😉

What you have to do is send your husband shopping. He will mess up the list and come home with the wrong items. Then he will go out-of-town and you will be too tired from working, homeschooling, being a girl scout leader, attempting to keep the house from being condemned because it is so dirty, and possibly taking care of yourself and your children that you won’t care that you don’t have the right ingredients(which is a total lie…because there are usually swear words involved when I realize I don’t have what I need to make dinner). On this one unusual evening you will improvise and actually create something delicious. I know it sounds like a total fairy tale, right? Well, the universe all came together one night and that is is just what happened! It is how this recipe was created.

I was trying to make the BLT Burgers from The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook(affiliate link) only didn’t have the right ingredients. My husband had read about the turkey bacon and ground beef and he got me ground turkey and real bacon. A happy error in this case(well in any case because turkey bacon is not so good in my book). It was a rare day when I didn’t just use it as an excuse for us to go out to eat…because Mommy gets quite tired doing it all by herself, she looks for any excuse normally. It was probably really cold and I didn’t want to go out in the cold. I decided to make do with what I could find in the fridge. This is seriously the best Turkey Burger Recipe I have tried. It is moist, flavorful and easy to make. Love recipes like that!

I had a bag of Swiss/Gruyère shredded cheese and since we are a cheesy family, I knew I needed to add cheese if this was going to work. As the cheese was shredded I mixed it into the meat. I added some mustard, salt and pepper and gave it a try.

The secret to making these burgers so tasty is to only flip them one time when you cook them. I have a cast iron grill pan(affiliate link). When I cook on the cast iron grill pan the cheese is inside the burger oozes out of the burger as it cooks. It forms this fantastic crunchy, golden cheese crust on the top of your burger. Amazing! This is seriously the best Turkey Burger Recipe I have tried. It is moist, flavorful and easy to make. Love recipes like that!

Layer some spinach and a thin slice of tomato on your toasted bun, then add your burger and slice of bacon. This is seriously the best Turkey Burger Recipe I have tried. It is moist, flavorful and easy to make. Love recipes like that!

You can add mayo, mustard or ketchup to your burger. I like mine as is. There is so much flavor I almost think the condiments take away from the flavor, but you will have to decide what you think. This time, I served our burgers with some homemade pita chipss. They are another surprisingly simple thing to make.

My girls LOVE these burgers! We have eaten them at least 4 times since I accidentally created them. The thing that I love about them is that they are super easy to make. Who doesn’t love an easy meal that your kids love as well? I’m pretty sure no one! 😉

If you give them a try, I’d love to hear what you think. I’m hoping you will think they are the best turkey burgers ever as well. Leave a comment here or on my facebook page. Can’t wait to hear!

this sound yummy and a great alternative from beef. I like the idea of adding the spinach to the sandwich. I’ll be pinning!

It is a great alternative and these come out really moist where a lot of turkey burgers come out dry. Enjoy!

My Mr. says he doesn’t like Turkey Burgers but this may be the one to change his mind. Spinach is a great alternative to lettuce also.
