Who is ready to see what was in the box? The Stitch Fix box. I got my latest box last week and I’ve got a Stitch Fix Review for you today along with some silliness and some photo bombing….of course!

Fantastic honest Stitch Fix Review with great pics. Love all the summer fashion. Cuteness!

I’m headed to a blog conference this week! Yay! I need a break from Mommyland and working and homeschooling, so I’m super excited to take off by myself for 5 days. Woot, woot! 5 whole days with no real responsibility….doesn’t that sound lovely? In case I didn’t spell it out clearly enough…Momma needs a break and is a bit over doing everything. Ever feel like that? I’m sure you do, I think it comes with motherhood.

Anyway, to the point, I told my Stitch Fix stylist about my upcoming blog conference and a few of the party themes. She filled my box with great goodies to help me look my best as I head to Utah. It was a great box!

I will show you what was in the box and tell you what I did with everything, but first, for those of you who are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me tell you about Stitch Fix.

In my opinion, Stitch Fix (affiliate links throughout this post) is perfect for busy moms (like me) or  people who don’t like to shop (like me) or have a fashion addiction and have always secretly wanted their own stylist….Stitch Fix is a great option. I also think it is great for helping you find pieces for your wardrobe that you wouldn’t normally even look at in the store. Variety can be a great thing and Stitch Fix helps with that for sure!

You will want to start by signing up for Stitch Fix. When you do so, you will fill out a style survey. It will give your stylist ideas of what you like and don’t like as well as your sizing information. Then you need to sign up for your first fix and wait patiently until the box comes. If you are like me, the date of your next fix will be kind of like your due date when you were pregnant….you won’t forget it. At. All.

When your fix is sent, you will be charged a $20 styling fee. Once the box arrives, try on everything in the box within 3 days. I love that I can try things on anytime I want and anytime that is convenient for me.

Select what you plan to keep and what you plan to return. Go online to your Stitch Fix account and check out. Leave your stylist very specific information about what you liked and didn’t like. It will help future fixes get even better. I’ve also found that starting a specific Stitch Fix Pinterest board (like mine here) and ONLY pinning things I would actually wear and that I think would look good on me (versus inspiration and amazing things you like, but would look horrible on) to that board has helped. I leave notes in the pins as to what I like or don’t like in the pin.

As you check out, you will pay for whatever you are keeping. At that time, your $20 styling fee will be deducted from the total cost of the items you are keeping. If you hit the jackpot and you love everything in your box, you will get a 25% discount on everything in the box! Yay!

First up, I tried on the Loveappella Archor Lace Sleeve Trim Knit Top. I paired it with a pair of KUT from Kloth capris from an earlier fix.

I really love stripes and love this shirt. It is skin tight though…and I’ve had children and 2 c-sections. There is a flabby skin that I can’t get rid of and can’t hide in a shirt like this. I feel self-conscious when I wear things like that.

Next up, my stylist sent me this adorable pink top. It is the Skies are Blue Fawkes Neckline Detail Blouse.

The top was to be paired with the Pixley June Polka Dot Skirt. Have I mentioned that I LOVE polka dots? This is such a cute skirt. My stylist sent this because I had told her I have a super cute scallop edged navy blue tote I want to use at SNAP. This would match perfectly.

You will have to pardon the KT Tape on my knee. I’ve been running more and training for a race that I ran this past weekend. With more mileage, my body tends to have IT band issues. I was all taped up to make sure I could make it to the race. Yay! I ♥ running! It has felt so great to train for this 10k and get myself back into great shape. I feel so good. My kids were wondering if I was embarrassed of the tape in these pictures. Absolutely not! I’m proud of it and proud to be back in good running shape and feeling so much stronger.

Anyway, to this outfit. I was so super hopeful for this outfit because I love it! It didn’t work as well for me as I’d like. The shirt seems like it just kind of hangs. As a total afterthought, I should have tried tucking the shirt in. I bet that would have looked really nice. The skirt kept riding up and bunching up. It was driving me nuts. It didn’t seem like it was too small, but it sure bunched up like it was.

I tend to get cold easily, so I tried the outfit with a little shrug I have. I was hoping it would make the outfit work because I like the polka dots and the pink so much.

Next up, my stylist sent the Gilli Shantel Dress. She sent it because one of the parties at SNAP is a “Fire & Ice” party. They are encouraging black or dark colored clothing. This has little specks of gold in it (which didn’t show up super well in the photography) and would be perfect for the party.

Such a cute dress and I like it on me and yet it isn’t just a totally home run.

The final item in my box was the Brixon Ivy Tommi Sweater dress. My stylist sent this one because the other party is a preppy Palm Springs poolside themed party.

OMG! Can I tell you how much I love this dress?! It is so cute! Normally with shorter dresses, I second guess if they are appropriate for my age (44) and such and so on…absolutely not with this dress. It is just perfect for me.

I also think it is perfect for a preppy poolside theme party. It is totally going to SNAP with me! Maybe with the KT tape, maybe not. (I am writing this post before my race, so I will have to see how I feel after the race.) If I have time, I want to try to find some cute white shoes. Did you know Stitch Fix is doing shoes now? I’m so excited about that! I ♥ shoes…but since I wear and 11 in women’s, I’m guessing they won’t have too much selection for me. 🙁 If I can’t find any white shoes, I will take these, but they are such a high heel, I am not super graceful in them.

So you know my daughter had to photobomb, right? I shot this Stitch Fix box during the school day, so my oldest daughter was at school, but since my youngest daughter is homeschooled, she took her time to shine! 😉 Since she loves animals, she got our dog, Ginger, to join in with her.

Did I mention that I’m not super graceful in these super tall heels? I may have almost fallen over while defending myself against the photo bombing attacks….multiple times. Lol! I should probably stick to running. 😉

She was trying to grab me from behind to give me a big hug. I was just being my dorky self. I get bored of trying to smile and make the right pose, so I make funny faces and silly poses as well. Hehe!

I was trying to shove her out and yell at her to “Get out,” at the same time. Funny pic ensued. Lol!

As usual, I’ve lost control of getting anything done to shoot this Stitch Fix box! Help! Ok, I love almost every moment of it! 😉

Here is what I did with this box:

  • Loveappella Archor Lace Sleeve Trip Knit Top – $54 – Returned
  • Skies are Blue Fawkes Neckline Detail Blouse – $48 – Returned
  • Pixley June Polka Dot Skirt – $58 – Returned
  • Gilli Shantel Dress – $68 – Returned
  • Brixon Ivy Tommi Sweater Dress – $98 – Kept

Now, I know you can see that I returned most of my box. That would lead most people to think this box was a bust and I guess technically it was, but it didn’t feel that way to me AT ALL. I LOVED this box. It felt like my stylist totally nailed my personality and the things that I would like. It just turns out they weren’t quite a perfect fit and because my clothes budget is a little maxed at the moment, I’m not adding anything that isn’t just perfect for me….plus I think that is just a good way to buy things anyway. I usually end up regretting it when I buy things that I like but they don’t fit great from the get go or things that I like but don’t just love. The one dress that I kept I LOVE and I can’t wait to wear it as many times as I can find to wear a dress. Those are the items I want to add to my wardrobe. Thanks, Michelle, you did a great job! I loved this box and I am super excited for the next one! You nailed it!

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram, you need to. I’ll be sharing more fun from my race and SNAP conference on IG. Yay!

I do love seeing your Stitch fix boxes each month. Thank you for sharing. I often feel you put yourself down and look much better than you think you do. Although I appreciate you cannot have every item every time!
I thought the stripey top looked great and you would get a lot of wear from it, Could you just try the next size up so it wasn’t as clingy? The dark dress looked good on you, although I think if your skirt length finished just above half way your knee (where your leg is at it’s thinnest) it would be the most flattering for you. I hope you enjoy your conference.

I have been thinking about trying one of the clothing boxes like Stitch Fit. I have seen some really cute things. The blue and white dress was perfect on you. I liked the darker one also though I wish more dresses came with a sleeve.

I bet you will really like it if you give Stitch Fix or another service like this a try. It is so convenient. Thank you for your comments about the clothes as well. I’m happy with what I kept!

I love the dress that you kept–it is perfect on you! That’s too bad about the polka dot skirt not being quite right, but for me I have to be pretty over the moon to keep SF pieces because they’re a little on the pricy side. I don’t think you’ll regret that dress though! Great review!

I can see why you had to keep that pretty blue dress, it looks great on you! I tried using KT tape but never figured out how to tape myself to help me on my runs. Congrats on your race! I just ran the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon and look forward to sleeping in on the wekends again for a few weekends.
