Today I’ve got something amazing for you! I’ve got the new Real Organized Road Trip Planner and you are going to LOVE ♥ it!
If you are a follower of my blog then you know I love being creative, being organized and spending time with my girls. I combined all of those for our two epic summer road trips. Our first was 5,400 miles and our 2nd was 7,000 miles. Woot, woot!
In the process of planning and going on those two amazing road trip, I used my organizational skills to plan things out so that we knew exactly where we were going, but we also had some backup plans in case things didn’t go like we thought they would.
I’ve talked with and heard comments from lots of you about our road trips and the overriding things that I hear from other women is that they want to go on a road trip just like ours but they can’t because their husband doesn’t want to go or they have no idea how to plan a successful trip that the kids and adults will enjoy.
That is where this Real Organized Road Trip Planner comes in! I’ve taken all of my experiences on the road and my natural organizational skills along with my love of having fun with my family and rolled it all into this road trip planner!
If you plan well, you can have a safe, successful AND FUN trip that the whole family(or whoever you talk into going with you) will enjoy.
The Real Organized Road Trip Planner has so much packed into it. Like I said, I’ve taken all of my experiences on the road as well as planning our trips and put it into this planner. It has everything you need in order to plan AND execute a successful road trip.
In additional to a customizable cover, the road trip planner has everything from a daily planner for each day of your trip to a packing list to an overview page that will help you budget for your trip.
It will help you plan your route for your trip, which is one of the main keys to a successful road trip. If you know the sweet spot for you and your family as far as how many miles to travel in one day, your trip will almost be guaranteed to succeed.
The Road Trip Planner contains tips for mileage to help you have a starting place to figure out your mileage sweet spot.
The daily planner gives you a place to put down all of the fun things you and your family are interested in doing at each location or on each driving route. That way you won’t forget. It is also a place to note your lodging and is a great place to put back up lodging and/or other nearby destinations just in case the day doesn’t go as you think it will.
Flexibility is definitely key to a successful road trip and I show you how to make notes of all of these things in the planner so that when you are on the road if you need to make changes, you already have tons of information to help you make changes and keep going and keep having fun.
I love this At-A-Glance portion of the Road Trip Planner. It is a quick and easy way to see where you are going next and what you are hoping to do in those locations.
When I’m on a road trip, sometimes the day to day driving gets a bit old since I’m the only driver, but using this At-A-Glance allows me to see the fun I’m driving toward and gets me and my girls excited for what is to come. For us, this is kind of like the motivation to keep going on those days we just really don’t want to get in the car again.
The Real OrganizedRoad Trip Planner covers not only the planning of the actual driving and road trip, but the getting ready for the trip. It contains packing lists that are specific to packing for a road trip.
Those are based on they way I pack the car for a road trip and entertain the kids in the car. It is all on these special packing lists.
Your planner also has to-do and shopping lists for you so that you can keep all of that organized as you prepare for your trip.
Finally, the Real Organized Road Trip Planner also includes a sheet with detailed information for whomever will be looking in on your home and/or pets. That way they have all the info. they need should the pipes start leaking or one of the pets needs to see a vet, etc. It is all there for their quick use and your peace of mind while you are gone.
Once you have done all the hard work of planning everything and getting out the door it is time to relax and enjoy! Thanks to the Real Organized Road Trip Planner, you are well organized, planned and prepared. Breathe that sigh of relief that you did it and you are making this amazing trip!
I’m telling you, my daughters have not stopped talking about either of our road trips nor have they let up on asking to go on additional road trips.
A lot of that has to do with the planning that goes into the road trips we have done. Another big portion has to do with our being flexible when we are on the road. If something isn’t working, don’t keep doing it just because that is the way you planned it. There is no fun in that for anyone!
As an example of being flexible and how the Road Trip Planner will help you, the favorite thing I have ever done in the 33 states we have visited on our road trips was an accident. Yep! We had to change our plans at Yellowstone and left the park at a different exit than I had planned. We ended up on Beartooth Highway.
My youngest daughter had read about it in her Kid’s Road Trip Atlas (affiliate link) and knew immediately where we were. During our planning, she had asked to drive Beartooth Highway, to which I had said, “No way. It will take too long.” Ending up on this highway that has only one way on and one way off with many miles and mountains in between, was one of those moments when I had to surrender to the road and just sit back and enjoy because there was no other way to go.
I’m so incredibly glad that we changed our plans and left Yellowstone at that exit. The drive, while long, was so unbelievably gorgeous.
It soothed me and spoke to my soul. It was one of those moments of chillaxing and remembering why I was on the road trip in the first place.
Things like Beartooth Highway are exactly why we love road trips. My girls and I had so much fun that day.
Never mind that we had to cancel our hotel plans for the night and find somewhere else to stay. I knew other ideas of where to stay because I had them noted in my Road Trip Planner from when I mapped out my trip, so it really wasn’t a worry.
Never mind that we didn’t eat dinner until 10 pm.
Never mind that we had no cell service for hours. It was an adventure. It was gorgeous. It was fantastic memories of my girls wrapped in blankets in August and seeing snow on the mountains in August. It was fun! What more can you ask for? Nothing in my book. My girls are only young for a short time and this is just the kind of thing I want to do with them and the time I want to invest in them.
While being organized and mapping out a plan for Road Trips are at least 50%+ of the success of a road trip you need know that you need to remain flexible and know that you have tons of notes in your Road Trip Planner and you can make changes any time because the point is to enjoy this road trip not follow the plan and torture everyone.
Start with the planning and organizing and remain open to the fun that can be following the road and making changes.
I hope you will have the courage to take your kids on a road trip. It doesn’t matter how long. It could be a weekend, a week long, or a month long. It really doesn’t matter. It is the fun and the places you go and most importantly the people you are with that matter.
Now get out there and plan that amazing Road Trip and enjoy the road and your family!
