Make Simple Handmade Cards for Easter

Today, I’ve got a tutorial for you on making these simple handmade cards for Easter.

3 handmade cards for easter
I love making handmade cards. However, sometimes I feel a little intimidated to make them. Have you seen some of the amazing handmade cards that people make? They are simply awe inspiring. I usually feel like I am supposed to make a card like that. The problem is that I don’t have the time or the creative juices to make the amazing cards of which I am speaking. Yet, I still like making cards. So, I just keep them simple.

It may have been simple to make, but I still think it looks cute and like it took some effort and thought. These handmade cards would go perfectly with the cute Easter Mason Jar Cookies I made for the perfect Easter neighbor gift or hostess gift.

Let me show you what I did, so you can make your own simple Easter card
card, egg cut out, and ribbon

Supplies:

  • Card base(affiliate link)
  • Textured scrapbook paper
  • Egg shape cut out of cardstock (2 per card)
  • Ribbon (I got mine at the dollar spot at Target and used 2, to make 3 cards)
  • Adhesive
  • Foam square adhesive(affiliate link)

adhering ribbon to egg

Start with one of the egg shapes that you cut out of cardstock. I cut mine on my Cricut, but you could easily (if you cut better than I do) cut them out by hand.

To add the ribbon, I found it easiest to run my adhesive down a section of the front of the card, about 4 or 5 lines side by side. Adhere the ribbon to that section of the egg.showing how to adhere ribbon to egg

Once you have the ribbon adhered to the front of the card and trimmed, turn the egg over. Use your adhesive to ‘glue’ the ribbon to the back of the card. I found working in sections was the easiest way to accomplish this.

After a few minutes, I had an egg shape covered by cute Easter and spring ribbons.

After a few minutes, a problem started to happen. A lot of the ribbons started to come undone. I didn’t want this to happen once I mailed the cards, so I had to come up with a solution.

I cut out a second egg shape and adhered it to the back of my ribbon covered egg. That way it would hold those ribbons down and give the egg a finished look.

See the nice finished look that gives the back of the egg? Yay, problem solved!

You’re done! Simple to make Easter cards.

3 finished Easter handmade cards
Simple handmade cards ready to be sent or paired with the Easter Mason Jar Cookies. If you would like, you could stamp or write a clever Easter saying on the inside. Something like, “Have an Egg-ceptional Easter.”

More to Enjoy! 😍

These are wonderful! I’m going to try this idea with washi tape. Other ways to adhere the ribbon without it coming unglued are to run the strips through a Xyron sticker maker or trim the ends flush with the edge of the egg and don’t wrap them behind the cutout. 🙂

Love this card, KC. I love washi tape but it is nice to see something different with the ribbon. Pretty colors and so simple. Thanks for sharing with us over at the Pink Cricut.

God bless and have a grateful day,

Thanks so much! I probably shouldn’t admit it, but I don’t even own any washi tape…..gasp! I had the ribbon, so that is what I used.
      Take care,

As I've been sharing in my stories for the last we As I've been sharing in my stories for the last week, I realize there are much bigger world stories. For our family story, today holds a graduation! What a year to graduate! For a kid who doesn't really want to graduate and enter adult life, it sure has been a rocky transition. All the fun stuff that ends a high school career just disappeared for her after she worked so hard to get there, like so many other seniors. We know it is for a good reason, but it stinks to be a Senior this year. Today, we celebrated with a social distancing "individual" graduation. I'm so grateful our school district found a way to celebrate their accomplishments and I'm so proud of the woman my daughter has become. I can't wait to see what the future brings for my smart and kind math and science nerd of a daughter. 🤓😍 ⁣
