Continuing that for June I’m focused on ideas for activities for kids and parents to do together, I’ve got a fun free printable for you today. If you grab this free download, you will have 20 ideas at the ready of things you can do with your kids on any summer day and have some instant fun. Perfection!
I love spending time with my girls. They are only with me for a short time….sometimes I may have Mommy panic attacks about them actually leaving, but that is for another post. I want to spend time with them. Do things they like. Get to know them and really enjoy them. At the same time, there are things I have to take care of and I have a business to run.
I came up with this idea last summer and it worked really well for us. I made it a little bit more formal this year and I’m sharing our ideas and some new ideas with you this summer. Since I have girls, I have ideas for girls and I added some that are more boy-oriented (but girls will enjoy as well).
You can use these ideas, that are part of my Real Summer of Fun series, as a springboard for your own ideas. Just sit down with your kids and ask them what they want to do with you. You will be amazed at how many ideas they have. I gave my girls each a piece of paper last year and told them to go to their room for 5 minutes and to think of as many ideas as they could of things we would all enjoy doing that cost little to no money. They each came out with a sheet full of ideas. It was so easy! Then we just typed those up and put them in our Summer Activities Jar.
This is the same concept, just in printable format…made even easier for you. Use the ideas you like, don’t use those that won’t work for your family. Add additional ideas that your family loves. Have fun with it! Having fun with our kids does not need to cost a fortune.
When you download your free printable, you will need to print it on regular paper.
Cut the ideas apart. Weed out those you don’t want to do and add a few that are things your family will love. You can just write them on a slip of paper or print them out. They don’t have to be all cute graphics like these.
Fold the paper up and put them in your bin (affiliate link). This year we are putting ours in these little tins I made for our Summer Activities for Kids board. I have 7 tins. Once they are empty, we will fill them back up with different ideas.
You can put your slips of paper in a jar or a paper bag. It really doesn’t matter. Cuteness sells in my house and I love making things, so I go for the cuteness with mine, but you don’t have to. The main point is to put them somewhere that you can draw out by random draw what you will be doing that day. It just makes it a little more fun and a little more of a surprise.
Just sign in below to get your free printable activities for kids and to get started with having a fun summer with your kiddos. Love it!
For even more activities for kids follow me on Facebook where I share tons more ideas.
How are these free if you are asking us to pay for them.? I don’t understand.
If you notice, there are directions right below the box to click to get your printable. It says “Just enter $0 in the Name Your Fair Price box to receive your free printable.” When you get to that box just put a 0 in the box and you will be the free printable. It is a required box with the service I use for my free downloads.
Hope that helps.
I totally wanted to do something along these lines this summer…thanks for doing the work for me! Love it!
So glad I could help! I hope they help you and your kids have some fun this summer. They helped me today when my daughter had a friend over to play and they said they were bored pretty quickly. They picked an idea and had fun! Yay!
