With May just around the corner, I thought sharing some pages from May a few years ago would be fun.
I’ve told you before that I usually make a calendar page for each month in our albums. For me, they are a fun way to keep up with the little details of life for which we don’t have pictures. When my girls were little they were also a great way to keep up with all those developmental milestones.
You can click on either of these pages to view them larger.
Both of these pages, I created on my own…a rare feat for me. It usually takes me so much longer than if I start with some kind of template in order to complete pages rather than get stuck.
On the bottom page I tried out a few new techniques I was learning at the time. You can read a little about those techniques in the what I used section below.
What I used:
- Simply Beautiful Digital Power Palette
- Simply Beautiful Spring Digital Addition
- Simply Beautiful Summer Digital Addition

The calendar was a freebie back in 2010 that I could not find a link for you to download.
Another way you could make a calendar is by using the calendar feature in SBC 4.0. It is found under the insert tab. You simply drag the size of the calendar you want to create. Then right-click on the calendar and click on format calendar in order to customize the look of your calendar.

- Simply Beautiful Mat 7 behind the calendar(Mat for calendar)from spring kit
- Butterfly Leaf Vine from spring kit
- Strawberry 1 from summer kit

- Artwork for Race for Cure shirt – I just found it online and added it in(middle paper).
- I added 2 strips of paper top and bottom of the Race for the Cure artwork. I filled them with pink sampled from the medals we are wearing in the pictures.
- I applied the same technique to add the rectangle I used as the background for my journaling. For this paper, I added a block surface with magnification and contrast making it appear like glitter. It also gives it a slightly different color than the pink ribbon.
- The 2 round ‘stickers’ were made by cutting a circle out of paper then adding a 3D filter to it to give it the illusion of being puffy like a sticker. Finally, I added either the ribbon or the ‘Go Pink’ on top of the ‘sticker.’
- The One More Mile and the pink label behind the words Race for the Cure were freebies I found way back when that I couldn’t find for you now.

I love the page. I haven’t made my way into digital scrapbooking yet, but this looks amazing. Thanks so much for sharing at Whimsy Wednesdays.
Thanks so much for your comments. The calendar idea works really well for me for just those details. Thanks for following me.
