Last week I shared with you all the components of our decorations for Valentine’s this year and how to make each one. Today, I want to share with you our decorating for Valentine’s, all put together. All the elements you saw individually came together in our kitchen.
The kitchen is our most used room of the house as it is, of course, where we eat. We also homeschool at this table, blog here, and all kinds of other things. Let me show you around and the different elements of our decorating for Valentine’s.
I started by cleaning the table. Yeah, it doesn’t normally look this white and crumb free. It usually stays this way for about 30 minutes or until I stop yelling at everyone to let me get the pictures. 😉
I added my reversible table runner to the clean blank canvas.
Next I added the new apothecary jars I made and filled with a Valentine theme. It was looking really cute, but needed a few more details.
We have had these Valentine’s place mats for years. As you can see they don’t all match. We like them and it works for us. I added them to the table.
We needed napkins. The pink napkins that used to be my Grandma’s work perfectly for our Valentine’s table.
Doesn’t it look cute and very Valentine’s?
I’m super happy with the apothecary jars. They are so pretty and look so great on our table. I think they are the star of the show.
I remembered that my mom had bought these cute Valentine’s plates a few years ago. She bought them for a tea party she and Snowflake put together. They were the perfect addition to our table.
The table looks great, but we need one more touch.
Can you see the Valentine wreath I made in the background? It looks so cute. It is right on the wall that I see all the time, every day. I really like looking at it.
Now obviously, given that we homeshool at the table and use it for tons of other things, we don’t keep the place mats napkins, plates and silverware on it on a daily basis. We have been keeping the table runner and the jars on the table. The M&M’s and conversations hearts seem to be a great treat for getting a math problem correct or getting some school work done. I have managed to spill my tea on the table runner…boo! I need to figure out how to get that stain out. Anyone know of a good way to get tea out of things?
Do you decorate your table or house for Valentine’s? What do you like to do?

You have done a really nice table. I think the placemats really add the touch. We have many mis match placemats and it does work.
Have a good day.
Thank you! Yes, the mismatch works and works for my cheapness and my budget, too.

Thank you! I love the pom poms, too! Of course the M&M’s are much more yummy. 😉

I hope you have fun making your own table setting!

What a gorgeous table! You did a fantastic job of decorating, the plates are so cute and yes those jars are certainly little stars of the table, mismatch is my favorite, I never do the matchy matchy thing! It’s the rebel in me 🙂 hahahaha!
Have a super day!
Shelly
Thank you! I might do the matchy matchy thing if I wasn’t so cheap, but since I have it and they are perfectly fine, can’t see buying new. This way everyone gets to pick what they like.

Love the table decorations and setting. Such a pretty table. Warmed my heart to see the heart plates as part of your Valentines table setting. Enjoy. You have inspired me to set us a pretty Valentine table. C3
Thanks Mom! The plates you bought looked really cute on the table.

Super cute table decor. I’m glad to know you’re real and it doesn’t look this way all the time. I think the M&Ms would be the first thing to disappear at my house!
Thank you! Yes, the M&M’s are mostly gone and they are mostly gone by me…which isn’t good since there were 2 bags of them. Good thing I’ve been training for another 10k…gotta work off that much chocolate somehow! lol!
Take care,
KC
LOVE LOVE those centerpieces! 🙂
Thank you!

Your table looks beautiful! Love the way the candy is displayed – so pretty! I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at this week’s I love anything lemon-y so I’m sure these would be no exception! I’m going to pin them for future reference (since I’ve given up dessert until my daughter’s first birthday). I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at Off the Hook!
Thank you so much!

The table runner is cute and the centerpiece over the top prize.

Thank you! We are having fun with the apothecary jars. My girls are already starting to ask me what we will fill them with next. Should be fun!
KC
These are so cute! And you could easily switch them out with new fillers for the different holidays!

Thank you! Yes, we already have ideas and plans for Easter. I’m sure I will show it here. I think it is going to be lots of fun to change them out for the seasons! 😀

I love this table scape but my son would totally pig out on the candy.
Lol! You crack me up! My kids sure want to eat the candy, but they know better than to just pig out…of course they are 11 and 6 and not little. When they were little, I never would have had this out.
Take care,
KC
To cute! I love those jars!
Thank you! We are enjoying them, too!
KC
Very fun and festive!
Thanks!
