We officially ended our school year last Friday. We ended with a preschool graduation for Pumpkin(my youngest), which she loved!

I made some cute tags on my scrapbook software and attached them to some pretzels I dipped in chocolate then drizzled with caramel and m&m’s! Yummy favor!

We officially school year round, taking the same amount of time off that kids do that are in traditional schools. We just take the time off at times that work better for our schedule and activities.

While we are on a 2 week break, I am getting all kinds of things ready for a 4th grader(OMG!! can’t believe I have a 4th grader and that I have been homeschooling for that long now!) and a Pre-K student!

I have seen many homeschoolers who use this neat system called the workbox system. For my non-homeschool friends, it is just a system with 12 boxes that you put your students work in for the day. They get to go to each box or drawer and pull out their work for the day. When they are done with all the boxes/drawers, then they are done for the day. I liked the idea, but really didn’t want any big bulky box or drawer sets, plus the whole systems seems a bit much to me. In addition, I like letting my kids choose what order they do their work in, it seems to make them happy and if it makes them happy it makes the day easier…right?! I’m all for that.

Anyway, a couple of years ago, I came up with my own space saving idea to do something similar to the workbox system. I made a cute sheet with numbered circles, then I made a bunch of circle with all our subjects. I then laminated them and used Velcro on the backs. Voila….very small easy way to put out the circles of what needs to be done for the day and let them choose! Then when they are done with something, they pull down that circle and see the circle underneath that says done!

So, while we are on break, I decided to make new of these sheets for my girls. Last time, I had just made them. This time, since I am using my digital scrapbooking software and know how to use it so much more(not to mention that I have WAY more papers, stickers, etc.), I let them choose. Snowflake(my oldest girl) wanted a princess theme. She also wanted it quite fancy and in my opinion a little formal. I think it came out really cute and she is looking forward to using it!

Pumpkin (my youngest girl) wanted a Strawberry Shortcake and Princess theme. I love hers! I think it is sooo cute.

And her subject circles(just realized looking at this that I need to change her pre-school circle to say pre-k):
