Last week I showed you the main star of my fall centerpiece, the spiral rosette yarn wrapped pumpkin. Today, I want to show you what I came up with for our fall centerpiece on our table.
Voila! Right now, I have a fall centerpiece with a slight Halloween twist. I will change it to just fall after Halloween (and I’ll probably show you how I change it, too).
I was forced to drink some wine to be able to use the wine bottles for the centerpieces, but I was willing to take one for the team so we could have a pretty table. π I cut a stencil out of vinyl using my Cricut machine and used etching cream to etch the pumpkin and spider web into the glass bottles.
In addition to my rosette yarn wrapped pumpkin, I found some $1 paper apples at Michael’s and a package of glittery pumpkins for $1. I wrapped the brown paper apples in yarn so they would go well with theΒ yarn wrapped pumpkin.Β They were much faster and not as intricate of a design as the big pumpkin. For this red apple, I wrapped the yarn back and forth in small section of the apple until the whole thing was covered in yarn.
For this rust colored apple, I tried to put the yarn on a diagonal and go around the apple in two sections. Somehow it got off as I went, so I ended up needing to do this one in a couple of extra sections.
As usual, I have kept the whole thing fairly simple and easily moveable. I added some little pinecones becase they remind me of fall and add to the fall colors.
The black feather boa that I used as a base for the whole centerpiece is a slight nod to Halloween and adds some additional fun texture. I added one wound into the chandelier hanging above our table as well. I didn’t remember to take a picture of it for you, though, sorry. I got the boas for $3 (really less because of course I used a coupon) at Michael’s
I just love how this looks, don’t you?
There you have our fall/slightly Halloween centerpiece. I will have a tutorial for you later on how to make your own stencil and etch the glass. It is easy and I plan to use both making my own stencil and glass etching quite a bit in the near future. Oh the projects I have in mind….hmmmm….wish there were more hours in the day!
Have a great day!
How fun! I don’t think I’ve seen pumpkins done like that in yarn before. Gives them some very beautiful texture!

Thank you! We are really enjoying the centerpiece (aside from how long it took to put together).
I really like your pumpkin! What a fun way to decorate for fall….this is the first pumpkin I have seen like this! And what a great addition this would make to my mantel!
Thanks so much for inspiring me today!

Thank you! Oh, I’m so glad I could inspire someone. Just be forewarned that it took a while to put together. It looks great in the end, so hopefully that makes it worth it to you. Have a great night!
Really clever. Love the pumpkins and apple.. a work of art.. xo marlis
Oh Wow! To say it is a work of art…wow! Thank you. I don’t know that I think it is a work of art but we are really enjoying seeing it on our table everyday. Thanks so much for your super kind comments.
I’m loving the texture of that pumpkin! Makes it seem soft and a little rustic π Great, great post! π

Thanks! Yes, it does give the pumpkin a soft look and feel. Of course, I won’t let me kids touch it or they will dirty it up. Thank goodness they are old enough to understand and don’t really care too much.
These are so cute!! Love them! Your newest follower came over from At The Picket Fence.
Thank you!
I just love those pumpkins and apples! We don’t decorate so much for fall here in Australia (we are coming into spring now) but I am going to have a go at those for fall next year!!
Just lovely,
Suzyq

Great collection! I don’t know that I would have thought to use a feather boa in such a unique way. I like all the different textures together.
Thank you! The feather boa is one of my favorite parts…I love the wispy texture and lightness it adds.
Beautiful! Here from Under The Table and now following π

Thank you! Good luck finding some after the season…great idea!
