Simple Easter Tablescape

I’ve seen so many beautiful mantle and tablescape blog posts that it inspired me to create my own.
I needed to keep it simple and I needed it to be inexpensive.
As I have 2 kids it needed to be something they couldn’t destroy.
I found some inspiration at Target in their fun dollar spot. I spotted these cute metal buckets and came up with a simple, inexpensive idea that the kids couldn’t totally destroy.
I started by cutting a circle from a cardboard box to raise the height I needed to fill. This way I wouldn’t need too much grass and the egg candies I would put on top would stay and not sink to the bottom.
To fill the buckets with the “Easter grass” without the grass going all over the place(and looking a bit funky), I made a ball out of the grass, put the ball on top of the cardboard piece, then used my fingers to work the grass to the edges.
After that, it was just trial and error with the egg candies to get the right amount that I liked. I used Cadbury Mini Eggs for my buckets(and I got lucky because my kids tried them and don’t like them, so I don’t have to worry about them eating them all month until Easter!! Bonus!!).
For the other 2 buckets, I used our plethora of plastic eggs, trying to find the right mix of colors and sizes. The bunny candle you see in the middle, I bought a few years back (I don’t remember where). The placemats are from years ago at where other than…Target, favorite store!
My new tablescape cost me only $7. $4 for the 4 buckets and $3 for the egg candy.
Works for me and looks cute.
Here have one more look.

Cute ideas. Love how you put in the cardboard in the pails. Would you be willing to share this at my Springtime Holiday Link Party? I’d love to have you. https://michellepaige.blogspot.com/2012/02/springtime-holiday-link-party.html
